In 1994, the Accomplish program was developed to support the implementation of bariatric surgery within Group Health Cooperative located in Seattle, WA. Under the direction of Dr. Steven Bock, the Accomplish Program evolved to include data based interventions to help patients reach ideal weight loss and long-term behavioral goals. The interventions also ensure that patients’ essential nutritional needs are met and that they receive necessary support related to the surgery and the lifestyle transformations they will undergo. Long-term care addresses weight loss plateaus and regain. The Accomplish Program is now offered nationally to surgical groups, individual patients, insurance providers and employers.
